The origin of this relationship.

One of the most recent...but fastest growing interspecies relationship is between a male domestic cat and a mousette.  Since evolved more domestic cats were brought back to Vulpes, their favorite yiff partner has been mousettes.  The mousettes were eager to help the male domestic cats increase their numbers.

Why they cross-breed

1. Cats LOOOOOOOVE mice...not for dinner...but as a yiff partner.
2. Mousettes are highly fertile and can reproduce quickly.  They are also the most likely to help the male domestic cats increase their numbers so that future generations will be able to yiff with the female domestic cats...which makes up about 95% of the feline population on Vulpes today.

What they offer each other

M Domestic Cat: Protection, if a male domestic cat yiffs with a mousette and impregnates her, he will stay devoted to her, making sure his mate and their children are well cared for and protected.

Mousette: Higher fertility, velvet-soft fur (ideal for snuggling), a long and flexible tail that can be wrapped around the cat's tail in some sexual positions.

Other Information

You should know by now that Predator/Prey relationships on Vulpes, don't work the same way that they do on Earth.  The cat's natural instinct to kill mice, has been converted into a instinct to yiff with them.
